It's not just coincidence there are 100,000 vacant homes in the 9 San Francisco Bay Area Counties.  Since 2008, foreclosures and short sales have pushed over 100,000 owners out of their homes in these very counties.

EVIDENCE is finally coming to light that the securitization and foreclosure process for these toxic loans was and is completely fraudulent - against the borrowers, against the investors, against the IRS, and against the taxpayers (12 Steps of Bank Fraud).  This fraud has caused untold damage to peoples' lives, property values, government revenues, and our economy.

CORRECT RESTITUTION for California Homeowners against this massive fraud requires that our State obtain, at a minimum:

1.  Toxic loans modified with principal reduction to market value
2.  Vacant foreclosures of toxic loans repatriated to former owners
3.  Toxic loan short sale/foreclosure "hit" to owners' credit reports be removed

These actions will stop owners from strategically defaulting and allow foreclosed owners back into home ownership quickly.  As a result, home prices will stabilize, property tax revenues will stabilize and begin a self-reinforcing virtuous cycle, encouraging the construction industry and other job growth.
